GATE participated in the stakeholders' panel of Futuris conference 2019

Following the success of the thematic 2018 Bulgarian Presidency Flagship event and the International Conference for Research Infrastructures 2018 in Vienna, the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science and the Executive Agency for the Operational Program Science and Education for Smart Growth organized an international conference "Research Infrastructures of the Future" (FUTURIS) on 10 and 11 December 2019 at National Palace of Culture in Sofia. The event was focused on the synchronization of national and EU efforts towards the next programming period in the context of long-term sustainability of European research and innovation infrastructures. It gathered high-level speakers and around 200 participants.

The FUTURIS conference’s panels provided an opportunity for the European Commission, EU member states policy makers and managers of leading EU research infrastructures to share their experience and vision on smart and sustainable development of local, regional and European research infrastructures. A special focus was given on the ESIF and Horizon Europe synergy, fostering the development of the next generation of excellent European scientists and research infrastructures' managers.

GATE FUTURIS 2019

GATE project was presented within the stakeholders’ panel dedicated on the transnational access to research infrastructures and the common challenging in the ERA of Big Data, Open data and Open innovation. Assoc. prof. Dessislava Petrova-Antonova announced the future GATE research infrastructure, including 3 Open Innovation Labs, 1 Education Lab and Big Data platform as well as the research directions in the GATE strategic application themes - Future Cities, Smart Industry, Intelligent Government and Digital health.
